Stair Railing and Handrail Installation
Drywall is a staple of nearly all buildings. Made from thin plaster boards derived from the mineral gypsum, drywall is lightweight and portable and found in most modern facilities across the United States. Drywall’s chemical composition is fire resistant, which makes it an ideal construction resource.
Drywall is an excellent building material, but it is subject to damage from time to time, and Commercial Handyman Services offers drywall installation and repair.
Patching Drywall and Replacement Drywall
Handy Giant technicians can assist with a variety of minor plumbing repairs, including fixing a leaky faucet and installing a new toilet.
With a hotel, preventative maintenance can become a complex undertaking due to the nature of the facilities. For example, not only do you have individual hotel rooms to take care of, you also have:
- Swimming pools and spas
- Gym facilities
- Onsite restaurants
- Parking facilities
- Lobby and common areas
- Vending machines
- Laundry & housekeeping facilities
- Banquet & meeting room facilities
- HVAC systems
- Emergency exits
- Boiler rooms
- And more…
The following checklist serves Commercial Handyman Services techs as a blueprint to ensure your hotel receives the attention it needs to prevent common problems and we will modify it to suit your hotel’s specific needs.
- Conduct room-by-room inspections, paying special attention to the following:
- Door (surfaces, handles, hinges, deadbolt, and key card reader)
- Sprinklers and smoke detectors
- Carpet seams
- Walls, baseboards, and crown moldings
- Air conditioning units
- Water fixtures
- Signs of water damage or mold
- Electrical systems
- Kitchen appliances, fixtures, and disposal (if equipped)
- Check generator systems
- Check laundry systems
- Check HVAC systems
- Check fire systems (including alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers, fire hose cabinets, and related components)
- Check cable/satellite/CCTV television systems
- Check wastewater systems
- Check Internet/Wi-Fi systems
- Check irrigation systems
- Check pool and spa equipment and surfaces
- Check restaurant and kitchen equipment (including freezers, walk-in cold room, stoves, exhaust systems, and grease traps)
- Check restrooms and locker rooms
- Schedule regular elevator inspections
- Check all interior spaces, paying special attention for signs of stress or damage
- Check all exterior spaces including common areas, private patios and balconies, ponds, landscaping, parking lots, tennis courts
The tasks associated with checking the systems and areas listed above vary based on the equipment and facilities being checked. In general, we will look for signs of excessive wear and tear, damage, and stress. Equipment such as HVAC, pool pumps, and boiler equipment systems will have specific scheduled maintenance requirements. If you use Computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) software, we will synchronize our work schedules with your CMMS system requirements.
Our technicians will inspect equipment when it is operating normally which allows us to see and hear potential symptoms. For example, pumps may look fine when not pumping water. Unless visible water or water damage is present, a visual inspection may not reveal a leak. On the other hand, if the technician runs the pumping equipment, leaks will likely become obvious.
When inspecting hotels and hotel equipment, whether scheduled via a computerized maintenance management system or not, the goal is to provide preventative services in order to prevent costly problems from manifesting. Depending on our findings, it may become necessary to go beyond preventative maintenance and perform or schedule actual repairs.
